Ok..so what have we learned...

Well..for starters, we learned that I..well.....to put it lightly, I am a genius!

Well...actually, not really. It never took a genius to see back in the campaign, what was going to happen. Much of the reason being that he (obama) to his credit--so much as said what he was wanting to do.
But it also took not so much genius as to know that the numbers for what he wanted to do...didn't add up. They COULDN'T.
You simply can't do what he wants to do, and make it work. Not without bankrupting the country and skewering small biz AND shafting the middle class.

The really interesting thing, was that the 'man-cub obama' got so many people...not dumb people--- believing that he was not the tax and spend liberal radical that he REALLY is.
That he convinced them that he had the KNOW HOW, as to how to run a country.
That he knew how to get the economy up and running again. That he could LEAD.
All that based on..well...absolutely NO experience to show otherwise!

No record. NO past. No history of ANY success, on any front!

But he had a slogan. He had a poster. And people bought it.
"Yes..we can..."
or my personal favorite....
"Hope and change...."

Indeed..

So....The 'change'.

We have the man-cub now keeping many of the same policies that he roundly criticized "W" for.
He can't close Gitmo, because contrary to what he believed..no other country really likes the idea of taking in terrorists.
The few that were released, were released into a tropical paradise of Bermuda and Palau.
(with OUR country PAYING Palau upwards of 200 MILLION to take them..)

We have our pinhead lightweight prez also keeping many of "W's" terror policies in place:
*Obama has argued that detainees at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan do not qualify for habeas corpus ("Robo"? are ya out there? paging egg on face "Robo"? Aww never mind. Go back to sleep where reality never intrudes..You might want to ask whatever pin head lawyer friend you were getting your talking points from what he thinks of this.)

*"State Secrets".

*"Rendition"

ALL THINGS criticized by lil webster, and he now does the same things. Oh, theres lots more. But you get the idea.

THE ECONOMY:

In Februrary, the Dems forced through an 800 BILLION "stimulous" that had TONS of pork spending (waste).
NO REPUBLICAN VOTED FOR IT.
They forced it out quickly and without any real effort to make enough time for anyone to read it. Including themselves!
Little did they know that there was also little nuggets like the bonuses for AIG in it....
Now again...had THEY read their own bill.....yeah. They would have seen that.
So out went the 800 billion 'stimulous' (with no republican votes) and what is the effect?

NUTHIN!, NO EFFECT. NADDA.

In fact..its made things worse. Because its gone out to pay for tons of pet (LIBERAL) projects and wasteful spending and some even unaccounted for.
AND they said it would go out quickly to those needing it...to stave off unemployment at 8%
Uh huh..Well..as it turns out, ALOT hasn't gone out yet and unemployment is now past 9.5 % and in some states 10% .
TEN PERCENT!!!!!!!!

And now these a$$ clowns want to be in charge of Healthcare too? Want us to believe that they know what they are talking about??

Now our lil man tate prez says he wants 'universal healthcare'..and says he wont tax anyone but the rich.
Aint gonna happen .
It's impossible. You can tax the rich 100% and not be able to pay for the mess he wants to put us under. Which essentially is 'canada care'.
In other words...obama is going to (very soon) have his own "READ MY LIPS" moment come up.
He's going to have to tax us. EVERY ONE OF US, for the crap healthcare that he wants to force on us. It WILL drive quality down and force prices ON EVERYTHING.... UP.
Drive unemployment UP! Shut down small biz's.
Such as is Canada.

And my good lil blogger pals on the left? "Robo" and "countsyfunkypants"..where are you now?

Where are you now that the projected ten year deficets under obama policies will be near 10Trillion?
Well.."Robo" is not speakin. Other than a 'thumbs up' on universal healthcare that i've seen posted on Facebook..theres really not much more than that. Because this bright boy can't figure any way to explain HOW WE GET THERE..so he'll be content to live in peter pan world.
Well close your eyes "ROBO", clap your hands, and say " I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES! I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES!! I DO! I DO ! I DO!!"

And speaking of Fairies, that leads me to "Countsyfunkypants".

"Countsy" was the brains to robo's igor...The one I had the most back and forths with.
"countsy" had a "POLITICAL BLOG", but is no longer blogging due to not being able to back it up with his boy crush (Obama) in there now.
Can't defend his positions...can't defend the actions...so best to just tuck tail and stop all together and say ..."things are just too busy to do so."
yeah..ok.

'countsy' and 'robo' are just a tip of the ice burg. Yeah..while they have their thumbs ticklin' thier prostates and pretending to be 'smert', there are several just like them.
Those that are average hard working people. People that VOTED for someone for the highest office in the land...based on nothing. Nothing.

The only sollace I take in it is....(true believers like 'robo' and 'countsy' aside...)
is that many of those people, 6 months into this epic failure in judgement--are waking up to the truth. And voting NO on obama care and NO to OBAMA.

Am I a 'genius'? Well...yes. But it doesn't take a genius to figure out the truth about this poser. Just a little common sense.

Lets hope it continues, because that is HOPE that I can truly BELIEVE IN.

Where we're headed.....OBAMA-CARE=CANADA CARE

This is what our a$$-clown in chief wants us to head to.
A fantastic example of govt care...the govt care that is so often put in front of us here in the good ole USof A as the shining example of what WE should have.
Well have a snoot-full from someone that has been there and experienced it.
Have a taste of the many people interviewed...from nurses to patients.

Remember that the most wonderful thing about Canada's socialized medicine, is that its FREEEEEEE!
(only...it isnt.)
Remember that its great because no one goes without. right?
(only...they do.)
Remember...obama-care is supposed to SAVE us money in the long run..right?? And create a surplus??
(only Canada..seems to be in a state of crisis because of it.)

But...it'll be different here because..well...obama is OBAMA!!
I mean after all... I've heard the obama song! "YES WE CAN! CAN! CAN!! YES, WE CAN! CAN! CAN!!"

Heres what we see so far...
Theres no way to pay for it.
There WILL be rationing.
There WILL be higher taxes and higher costs...ON EVERYTHING.
There WILL be lower quality....

Obama care...Yes, we can't
.......afford it, that is.
On so many levels.

Comedy GOLD!

Here's democrat gonad Rep. Russ Carnahan trying his level best to sell obamas crappy healthcare reform to some of his constituents.
Listen when he tries to say that it (obama govt healthcare) will create efficiencies and a surplus...Its just awesome to see a previously sleepy public wake up in a collective WTF moment.

Wait for the last question. You'll love it as carnhan can't answer any better than his messiah the other night.

Comedy Gold.

"You're going to destroy my presidency !"

Now that's "hope and change" I can believe in!!

National Journal

Dems Start To Push Back Hard To Prevent A 'Waterloo'

""A telling episode recounted by Senate Finance ranking member Charles Grassley reveals the Obama administration might be more worried than they are letting on that a Republican senator's comparison of the healthcare overhaul to Waterloo might be dangerously close to the truth.

Grassley said he spoke with a Democratic House member last week who shared Obama's bleak reaction during a private meeting to reports that some factions of House Democrats were lining up to stall or even take down the overhaul unless leaders made major changes.

"Let's just lay everything on the table," Grassley said. "A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn't going to pass if there weren't some changes made ... and the president says, 'You're going to destroy my presidency.' "

The White House did not respond to requests for comment.

Most of the Blue Dog Coalition opposes the House overhaul bill and have managed to delay the Energy and Commerce Committee markup. (See related story, page 1.) Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., the Blue Dogs' Health Care Task Force chairman, said Tuesday he is not the member Grassley was referring to.

House Republicans Tuesday made hay of the issue, with Ways and Means minority staff sending out an e-mail asking, "Who's really blocking health care reform?"

"Do not be fooled by the president's repeated attempts to create a Republican straw man for his health care troubles," the e-mail reads. The GOP pointed to ads the Democratic National Committee is running to pressure Democratic lawmakers.....""

"AP-GfK Poll: Great hopes for Obama fade to reality"

"WASHINGTON – That was fast. The hope and optimism that washed over the country in the opening months of Barack Obama's presidency are giving way to harsh realities.

An Associated Press-GfK Poll shows that a majority of Americans are back to thinking that the country is headed in the wrong direction after a fleeting period in which more thought it was on the right track.

Obama still has a solid 55 percent approval rating — better than Bill Clinton and about even with George W. Bush six months into their presidencies — but there are growing doubts about whether he can succeed at some of the biggest items on his to-do list. And there is a growing sense that he is trying to tackle too much too soon.

The number of people who think Obama can improve the economy is down a sobering 19 percentage points from the euphoric days just before his inauguration. Ditto for expectations about creating jobs. Also down significantly: the share of people who think he can reduce the deficit, remove troops from Iraq and improve respect for the U.S. around the world, all slipping 15 points.

On overhauling health care, a signature issue for Obama, hopes for success are down a lesser 6 points.

Add it all up, and does it mean Obama has lost his mojo? Has yes-we-can morphed into maybe?

"I think it's just reality," said Sandy Smith, a 48-year-old public relations worker from Los Angeles. "He's not Superman, right?"

Indeed, it's not unusual for approval ratings to slide once presidents actually get to work. They're pulled down by things going on in the real world, by people who don't agree with the ways they're addressing problems, by criticism from political opponents.

In Obama's case, the problems he's confronting domestically and internationally are legion, and his ability to blame them on his predecessor is fading. Challenges still abound in Iraq and Afghanistan. Unemployment, at 7.6 percent in January, hit 9.5 percent in June and is expected to keep rising well into next year. Almost 4 percent of homeowners with mortgages are in foreclosure, and an additional 8 percent are at least a month behind on payments — the highest levels since the Great Depression.

The president is deep into the debate over how to overhaul the nation's health care system, and people are nervous about how their own insurance could be affected. Obama's critics are accusing him of conducting a risky "grand experiment" that will hurt the economy and could force millions to drop their current coverage.

It's all taking a toll on expectations. The number of people who think it's realistic to expect at least some noticeable improvement in the economy during Obama's first year in office dropped from 27 percent in January to 16 percent in the latest survey.

There's been slippage, as well, in how people view the president personally, although he's still well regarded. About two-thirds now think he understands the problems of ordinary Americans, down from 81 percent in January. Sixty-nine percent think he's a strong leader, off from 78 percent before the inauguration.

"He doesn't know enough about any of this," says Michelle Kelsey, a 37-year-old student in Breckenridge, Mo., who gives Obama a three for leadership on a 10-point scale. But then again, Kelsey says, "Nobody could have done better."

"I just feel like people haven't given him enough time. It's going to take longer for the economy to come around."

In an interview aired Tuesday on "The CBS Evening News," Obama linked high poll numbers to inaction.

"The easiest way to keep your poll numbers up, and to garner good press, is to do not that much here in this town, and not to cause a lot of controversy. And there's some people who would probably advise that that's the approach you should take. But that's not why the American people sent me here. They sent me here to solve problems," he said.

It's not just Obama who's feeling the drag. Approval of Congress — already low — has gotten lower, slipping 6 percentage points to 32 percent.

Overall, the number of people who think the country is going in the wrong direction hit 54 percent in the latest AP-GfK poll, up from 46 percent in June.

That's not necessarily surprising. In years past, the public has tended to be more pessimistic than optimistic about the country's future. Recent exceptions have been short-lived, at the start of the Iraq war, after the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001, after the capture of Saddam Hussein and late in the Clinton administration.

Perhaps most troubling for Obama may be where he is losing ground. His approval rating was down 9 points among Americans overall but 20 percent among independents. Similarly, the increase in those who think the country is headed in the wrong direction came mostly from independents and Democrats.

Dissatisfaction among independents grew disproportionately on Obama's handling of a range of issues, including the economy, taxes, unemployment, the environment and more.

Independents are "the ones to watch," according to Professor Robert Shapiro, a Columbia University expert on public opinion. "The Republicans were more pessimistic from the outset. The Democrats are going to be more resistant to negative information."

Overall, Obama still can feel good about a 55 percent approval rating, Shapiro said, but "the fact that it is on the downswing is something to be concerned about. That's going to affect how members of Congress, and in particular people in his own party, may respond to him."

The AP-GfK Poll was conducted July 16-20 by GfK Roper Public Affairs & Media. It involved interviews on landlines and cell phones with 1,006 adults nationwide. The survey had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points."

'Newsweek' bags on obama care....

Even the magazine that has had its nose so far up obamas crack, thinks obama care sucks butt.
The troof... will set'cha freeeeeee!

"Endless Summer"

Howard Fineman

Barack Obama has a knack for riding political waves. I put that down to his upbringing in Hawaii, where surfing is second nature. He also yearns to make history. I put that down to his time as editor of the Harvard Law Review, where it dawned on him that a son of a Kenyan and Kansan could be president, and a path-breaker in the process. But now the president's skill at riding well-timed waves into history is being tested. In fact, he's in danger of wiping out. The reason is health-care reform. Why? Because his timing isn't good and his plan, at least what we've seen so far, isn't "reform."

Obama and his aides, fearing a loss of momentum, are trying to stoke a sense of urgency in hopes that the Senate will feel compelled to pass a 1,000-page-plus measure before its August recess. I asked a very plugged-in Hill Democrat whether the Senate would do so. "Less and less likely," he said. That doesn't mean that health-care reform is dead. It does mean at best that the fall is going to be dominated by a ferocious national debate, and that the outcome is far from clear.

Obama's timing is bad because of the recession, which puts more strain and focus on the federal budget, even as it makes devising a health-care plan that moves toward erasing deficits in the decades ahead—what's known as "bending the curve"—more difficult. The president knows that he needs to sell health-care reform both as a matter of morals and of money: that we can only avoid irreversible national bankruptcy by controlling health-care costs.

But every one of the three proposals put forth so far on the Hill would, as written, add to federal deficits, not ease them. What would have been a tough sell in the best of circumstances is now all the more difficult in the face of deepening worries, especially among independent voters, about the long-term federal debt.

Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, told me that there are "curve-bending" provisions scattered through the three bills, but that those provisions need to be consolidated into a final bill for the whole thing to work. Here's another political problem: most of Gibbs's so-far-unaccounted-for curve-bending would be derived not from additional cuts in spending, but from raising taxes to generate revenue.

The president has vowed to make sure that his final plan is paid for, meaning that it won't add to long-term deficits, but that's far short of what he and his budget director, Peter Orszag, originally said they were aiming for. It's not a curve—at least not a downward one. If Obama is going to argue that we can't not afford to do this, the numbers have to show the chance for radical savings. So far, they don't.

The second reason why the health-care wave is fading is this: so far, this isn't "reform" in any thoroughgoing sense. The original idea was to rethink the entire convoluted and overly complex system, and to find ways to truly change the way we think about health care to both improve care and save money. There ought to be ways to do that. But the three bills to emerge so far seem like more of an attempt to buy off existing constituencies than a real rethinking of the mess.

Insurance companies are a good example. Yes, they would be required to sell coverage to people with preexisting conditions, but they would get something monumental in exchange for tighter regulation: a government mandate that everyone buy their product. No wonder an industry group has released an ad praising what Congress is doing. Yes, there would be tighter regulation of hospitals, doctors, and other caregivers, and cuts in Medicare and Medicaid spending, but all of the players would stay in place in pretty much the same relation to each other that they now have. So, yes, millions of people would get subsidized coverage at taxpayer expense, but we would be sending them into a system that everyone admits is dysfunctional and unsustainable now.

And why is Obama keeping his surfboard on this weakening wave? For one, he thinks that he can broker a deal among Democrats, which, in theory, would be enough. He believes that his powers of persuasion and patience for detail will prevail. He also wants to be able to proclaim that he's has made health care "available" to all.

But that's not technically what the bills do. They don't contain an entitlement in the strict sense; they don't directly state that every American is entitled to health care. But by forcing people to buy—and forcing companies to sell—insurance, and by offering assistance to those who can't afford coverage, the measure comes closer than we ever have to the vision of a national health-insurance program that President Harry Truman put forth more than a half century ago.

Obama wants to say, "I've redeemed the Truman promise." In other words, "I've made history." But this president is a long way from the beach, and no one knows which way the tide is running.

Ellie Frazetta : 1935-2009

I just learned that Ellie Frazetta, Wife, business manager, and inspiration to the father of modern day Fantasy, Frank Frazetta...had passed away a day ago from Brain Cancer.

For anyone that knows anything about the Frazetta's, know that Ellie was truly the mastermind behind the success of husband Frank. Yes, Frank is a MONSTER GENIUS of a guy..but as anyone knows..artists aren't the quickest people in the world. Which is why so much of the work from the old masters were just given away. Ellie was a trail blazer in the field by making sure Franks originals came back to him. Something that paved the way for all of us up and comers.
Ellie also saw to it that it might be a profitable thing to get Franks works on posters and prints, t-shirts and everything else you can name.

Wife of 53 years to Frank..thier story is truly an inspirational one. A success in business and more importantly a success in life and love. Boasting four children and several grandchildren.
She is missed.

***

A great write up from "spectrum fantastic art" posted below:

"Unfortunately sad news tends to come in waves. Ellie Frazetta, wife of 53 years to Grand Master Frank, died in her sleep July 17 after a year-long battle with brain cancer; she was 74 years old.

Hot-tempered, opinionated, aggressive, and sometimes just an out-and-out pain in the butt, Ellie could be a bull in a china shop when dealing with people: it's hardly surprising that she accumulated her share of enemies and detractors over the decades. But she could also be effusive, friendly, kind, and generous to a fault; she would open her home to visitors and treat them like family. If she liked you she made sure you knew it every day; if she didn't... look out!

While Frank gained recognition for his art, it was Ellie who capitalized on that popularity, pushing and promoting and making Frank Frazetta bigger and more successful than he probably ever would have been without her. To minimize her efforts would be a mistake: together they made a potent team.
They met in 1952 when she was 17 and Frank was 24; they quickly became inseparable and, despite her father's misgivings, were married when she turned 21 in 1956. Their first child – Frank Jr. – was born within the year. The Frazettas experienced career ups and downs (as detailed in Icon, Legacy, and Testament) through the years and had three more children together. During this time, Ellie increasingly began to act as Frank's business manager. Not every decision was the right one and not every business deal turned out as it was hoped, but through trial and error she created a successful poster business, realized substantial sums for Frank's original art, and opened several incarnations of a museum devoted to his work. She was his biggest fan, his staunchest defender, and his steadfast companion in good times and bad. And in doing so she became something of a role model for many other artists' spouses that have followed her lead through the years.

After Frank's undiagnosed thyroid condition in the 1980s and debilitating strokes in the '90s, Ellie was care-giver (and mother and grandmother) and breadwinner: she made book deals, published her own products, and licensed art for calendars, advertising, and comics. She lived her life without excuses or apologies... but there was also a certain vulnerability and sadness lurking beneath a steely exterior that would become apparent on those rare occasions when she allowed her guard to momentarily drop.
Ellie Frazetta's story is a complex one, not easily understood nor readily explained; hopefully one day it will be properly told.

It was a long and painful final year for her both physically and emotionally; may she rest in peace.

Moron+Racist+california= Barbara Boxer.

Heres a WONDERFUL clip from the other day. Barbara Boxer gets her a$$ handed to herself on a silver platter, with garnish and a tad of rice pillaf to munch on down.

Barbara Boxer has always been one of the most idiotic people in the senate. Truly! When I say "IDIOTIC", its not just for flourish. She really is a moron, of highest degree.
Not just stupid, but an arrogant, full of herself, garish, elitist jackass (every one of those things incidentally are requirements to be a card carrying democrat by the way), who lets her full on racism show (as all democrats do more often than not), and gets it shoved back in her face. HARD.

So eat this up, cuz its yummy!

"Mom Jeans"

Now I wish I made this term up for obama's girly jeans..but I didn't. It started on the conservative blogosphere, and was glommed onto by some in the entertainment talk shows. (like kimmel).

This was a great take on it though, so I'm posting it here.

If you saw 'the pitch'..it was about as manly as you would expect from obama..which is not very.
Limpy, weanie and devoid of any power behind it. And I hear that it pretty much bounced and didn't get over the plate.

Surprised? Not very.
Now 'W'...he made it over the plate and through strikes to boot! Theres the difference between the two. Never send a boy to do a mans job. That goes for the presidency AS WELL as throwing out the first pitch.

Yeah, I know that there are some that are going to say..."OOOOO your RACIST!"
First, to those dummies...There was no racist slam intended and your seeing what you want to see. Second, Obama is a youth. Mentally, morally, and experience wise.
So I am (as always) correct in my statement above. So bite me.

LASTLY:

I know I've been away for awhile. Its been a tough time to post anything. Being an all around swell guy, saving the world, and composing takes alot of time. Not too mention just being a TOTALLY sexy individual and keeping my tushy nice and snuggable. It all takes alot of time!
But..this weekend, I am hoping to go nuts with several posts. To try and make up for my absence.

Couldn't have said it better myself...

Greg Gutfeld:

"Am I an old fart or am I right to be pissed that some jackass is skateboarding down the halls of the White House while all this Iranian shit is going down?

We truly have succumbed to the idiocy of the MTV/Mountain Dew/Road Rules backward hat and baggy short culture. Did I miss something, or is the White House the future set for the next Real World? Where are the wallet chains? Is Hot Topic handling our foreign policy? Obama should be grounded for a week for letting Tony Hawk play in OUR house. Where in hell are the adults?

Look: Tony Hawk is in his mid forties. He's a grown man...and he skateboards. Could you imagine your dad or anyone who lived during World War II treating a man who skateboards with anything less than scorn and ridicule?

Right now, people are risking their lives for the glimmer of freedom, and Tony Hawk is in the White House tweeting about Frosted Flakes.

Someone please dig up Reagan. I'd take a dead leader with balls over a living camp counselor who wants all the cool kids to like him.

What a screaming joke."

Riots in Iran..Obama...MISSING IN ACTION.

The state dept refusing to condemn the violence in Iran.
Obama AFTER THREE DAYS just over an hour ago, giving his first take on it.

His first take was a flacid, impotent, limp reaction.

Now I know that thats alot of penis references...But when your dealing with obama..what better comparison is there?

HAPPY FLAG DAY..

Two things...

1) It matters. It mattered then, it matters NOW.

2) Leftist didn't give a damn about the flag or what it represents THEN.......and they still don't today.

I KNOW! I KNOW!!

I know it's been awhile. But gimme some slack! Its summer time, AND lots of big events happening on my end. Heres something to tide you over tho.

Monday, June 01, 2009

A change of tone for now..

Well...There's been much to say, but little time to do it as I wrap up work on a childrens book and plan to ramp up work on some storyboard work, development work and some other personal projects.
Upcoming posts will consist of my recent discussions/battles I've had with Steve hulett of the animation union along with some of the latest silliness of the obama administration and maybe a some ponderings for my ole pal 'robo'.
Not really meant as anything for him to actually respond to, because I don't think he's able to think beyond what 'countsy' blogs, and being that 'countsy' doesn't want to blog anymore due to him having to DEFEND the indefensible...both of them have sort of forfeited the game to yours truley. (ME).

Not that I blame them. Fighting and winning wars are never the lefts strongpoint.

So until those posts..heres a little fun ditty! A spoof of this 80's song and video that is purty fun.
And 'countsy' and 'Robo'..while there are underwear gags in this vid..It is NOT of the animation sort. So you prolly wont be interested in it.
Altho 'countsy' might cuz he is a lil 'geh'.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY.

To our soldiers. The living and the passed.

While there are those who will spit on you and vilify you. Those that try to dishonor you and persecute you. Those that have traded in their love of country for a bumper sticker that says "war is not the answer" or "obama for president"....

You know that there are those (in greater number) that:
Honor you.
Respect you.
Love you...and lift you up in our daily prayers.

You are Hero's. May God bless you all.

Leftist crazy Maureen Dowd plagiarizes crazy leftist blogger.

GO FIGURE!

Being that lefties don't believe in standards and yet also believe in laziness as a constitutional right..its not big surprise, really.
She is now currently saying that she heard a friend say the line in question and inadvertently stuck it in HER column. (uh huh..)

One of the really fun things about this is that she was at the front of the line when criticizing Joe Biden for his plagiarism some 20 years ago.

Oh Maureen, Maureen, Maureen...What would daddums and mommums say if it turned out to be that you really were what everyone already knows you to be.

A leftist hack.

Me-thinkest they might take away your pony.

Irish student hoaxes world's media with fake quote

I mean really. With all of the media so obviously putting 'journalism' on the back burner as they so blatantly bury their faces in the man-cubs backside....Is there anyone that would be shocked by the following?

When bias is mixed with laziness...That's dangerous. On so many levels. We are heading into a very very troubled time...and with absolutely no reporting (or bad reporting) from the 'mainstream' media, it puts more and more responsibility on the other 'new' media outlets . My hope is that more and more people wake up in time .

Irish student hoaxes world's media with fake quote

By SHAWN POGATCHNIK, Associated Press Writer - Tue May 12, 2009 8:57AM EDT

DUBLIN -

When Dublin university student Shane Fitzgerald posted a poetic but phony quote on Wikipedia, he said he was testing how our globalized, increasingly Internet-dependent media was upholding accuracy and accountability in an age of instant news.

His report card: Wikipedia passed. Journalism flunked.

The sociology major's made-up quote — which he added to the Wikipedia page of Maurice Jarre hours after the French composer's death March 28 — flew straight on to dozens of U.S. blogs and newspaper Web sites in Britain, Australia and India.

They used the fabricated material, Fitzgerald said, even though administrators at the free online encyclopedia quickly caught the quote's lack of attribution and removed it, but not quickly enough to keep some journalists from cutting and pasting it first.

A full month went by and nobody noticed the editorial fraud. So Fitzgerald told several media outlets in an e-mail and the corrections began.

"I was really shocked at the results from the experiment," Fitzgerald, 22, said Monday in an interview a week after one newspaper at fault, The Guardian of Britain, became the first to admit its obituarist lifted material straight from Wikipedia.

"I am 100 percent convinced that if I hadn't come forward, that quote would have gone down in history as something Maurice Jarre said, instead of something I made up," he said. "It would have become another example where, once anything is printed enough times in the media without challenge, it becomes fact."

So far, The Guardian is the only publication to make a public mea culpa, while others have eliminated or amended their online obituaries without any reference to the original version — or in a few cases, still are citing Fitzgerald's florid prose weeks after he pointed out its true origin.

"One could say my life itself has been one long soundtrack," Fitzgerald's fake Jarre quote read. "Music was my life, music brought me to life, and music is how I will be remembered long after I leave this life. When I die there will be a final waltz playing in my head that only I can hear."

Fitzgerald said one of his University College Dublin classes was exploring how quickly information was transmitted around the globe. His private concern was that, under pressure to produce news instantly, media outlets were increasingly relying on Internet sources — none more ubiquitous than the publicly edited Wikipedia.

When he saw British 24-hour news channels reporting the death of the triple Oscar-winning composer, Fitzgerald sensed what he called "a golden opportunity" for an experiment on media use of Wikipedia.

He said it took him less than 15 minutes to fabricate and place a quote calculated to appeal to obituary writers without distorting Jarre's actual life experiences.

If anything, Fitzgerald said, he expected newspapers to avoid his quote because it had no link to a source — and even might trigger alarms as "too good to be true." But many blogs and several newspapers used the quotes at the start or finish of their obituaries.

Wikipedia spokesman Jay Walsh said he appreciated the Dublin student's point, and said he agreed it was "distressing so see how quickly journalists would descend on that information without double-checking it."

Isn't he precious??

I like that you can see a little bit of panic on his face when he realizes his brain (teleprompter) had stalled.

He is already a little bothered with being branded the most teleprompter dependent person EVAH!!

HAH! I love it.

If hes is sooo damn smart..why can't he speak for himself? Why cant he THINK for himself.
Because.. he is exactly what I thought. An illusion. A facade.

A nothing.

(except a fairly good reader.)

Let me get this straight....

Obama thought that flying a jet at a very low altitude..over the world trade center....for a PHOTO OP!!
obama actually thought this was a great idea??

Man-cub..you got some growing up to .

(I thought this guy was supposed to be 'smert')

In THIS clip of the same event...Whats interesting in watching this throng of freaked out NY"ers actually RUN in panic..Is that I couldn't help but wonder how many of these people (in very leftist NY) actually voted for the man/boy?
Folks...get used to this. Its only going to get worse. And I hope that when the time comes..that when we get hit again..(and due to obamas child like way of looking at the world, its safe to say we probably will.)..I only hope that you look back and not only hold HIM accountable, but yourselves as well.

"STATE OF THE UNION"--PART TWO!

(thank you for waiting. Your patience is sexy.)

*****

As I said, I had several discussions and arguments with Steve Hulett. Pretty much amounting to nothing more than me venting my displeasure with the wasting of funds.
There really was very little that could be done about it from a 'member' standpoint.

Frustrating? Sure! you bet...but it is what it is. You voice your two and a half bits and move onto other things in your life.
That frustration kicked up a notch when the industry was really starting to feel some of those pains. Many people were being laid off in pretty much all the studios. Disney, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, etc. Many people were gravitating towards the television studios. Places like Philm Roman, Nickelodeon, Klasky Csupo, Cartoon Network, WB TV....These places were doing things and.. were hiring.
What irked me, is that the illustrious fearless leader of the union...a one Tom Sito...sent out a letter in the union newsletter (The "pegboard") slamming those who would work in Television. slamming those that are working in 'non union houses'. People that (like those in the union) have families and bills to pay and mortgages hanging overhead.
People with responsibilities.
Slamming them and besmirching them, saying that they are hurting the animation industry by doing so. Harming the industry and harming those in the industry by daring to go against the union grain and work in 'non union' houses.
In short...vilifying them.

"DON'T WORK AT THEM UNTIL THEY COME AROUND AND SEE THE LIGHT! UNTIL THEY JOIN!"

"Of course. I mean after all numbskulls, they (non union shops) don't care about you. All they (non union shops) want to do is get cheap labor, send things over seas, lay you off at a moments notice. Take advantage of you! YOU NEED US ( the 'Union') to PROTECT YOU!"

Uh huh...yeah.

IT was no big surprise...(not to me anyway) to learn that Warner Brothers Feature Animation back in 2000 was (yup..you guessed it) OUTSOURCING WORK.
To Canada (and other places if I'm not mistaken. But definitely Canada). Animation, Clean-up, Inbetween, you name it.

"WHOA WHOA WHOA! Handel...Isn't Warner Brothers a Feature Film studio? That would make it a UNION SHOP, right?"

Yuuuuuuuuuup. That would make it a union shop. The very same Union that REQUIRES you to join the Union in order for you to work at feature film studios like Warner Brothers. Cuz after all, You need to be UNION so that they can protect you! After all..you don't want things to be like the NON UNION houses (like Television) where your jobs are shipped somewhere else do you?

Here's the real kicker though. Who do you think was the animation Director on the Warner Brothers release ('osmosis jones') at that time ?

TOM SITO...... UNION PRESIDENT

How do ya like them cranapples?

The very same Tom Sito that chastised people for working in non union houses. Slammed those who would dare work in television.
He was working as an ANIMATION DIRECTOR at a UNION SHOP, on a film that was indeed OUTSOURCING animation gigs. To Canada.
Now...wouldn't you think that that might warrant some sort of dialogue around the round table at the union offices about possible conflicts of interest..or maybe how doing so would in essence make him (Sito) the epitome of the 'ultimate hypocrite'?
How utterly ridiculous this would make him and the precious Union look?

Now, I know that there was some blow back on this. ( I know I put my two bits in).
There was a response from him saying that its out of his control. He's just an employee at the studio.. and people have to work and so does he...(or some such nonsense).

Mind you...its not so much nonsense, because that's what everyone who were clamoring for the non union gigs when features hit the skids...that's what THEY were saying.
But to hear Tom Sito (union prez) say something even remotely close to that, especially after bashing those that were working in TV for doing so....
It seems to me, just out of sheer principal...it seems as though he should have stepped aside and said (and said loudly), that I can NOT accept this position as animation director for this film...as long as you are following policies that are against what my hard fought beliefs are."
"VIVA UNION !"

But again...that is only if you are a principled person.

I worked in Union feature houses, and I worked in non union television houses..and then I went back to features again. I, like most people in animation can speak about both working conditions.

when I went back to features, I worked at Sony Imageworks. Mind you...things were really bad in animation. And everyone knew it. That obviously included the studios.
It was a buyers market baby...and boy were they picking the fruits!!

Rampant exploitation. The studios were making people work longer hours with no overtime.
Coming right out and saying that if you didn't do what they (the studio) wanted and how they wanted it done...sayonara baby.

Steve Hulett, who is and has been the Union business rep...one of his duties (apparantly) is to walk the halls of the studios, and say...""So..hows everything going?""

I saw him quite abit, and spoke to him (as many others did, no doubt) about what was happening at Sony.
His response was this...""Well..You could fill out a form..File a complaint...""
When asked about protection from being fired if we did so...He said:""Well..that is always the risk""

I asked : So what happens after a report is filled?

Hulett: ""We would call them and speak to them about it, bother them...."
ME: "that's it?"
Hulett: ""Well..that's about it, there's really not that much we could do at this point. The industry is really hurting. Buyers market...""

So...That's that.

Again...You are told that you are REQUIRED to join the union. For protection against the BIG BAD STUDIOS. But what it comes down to..is that there really is not alot that the union can do.
Other than bitch and whine about the non union houses that still hasn't bowed and kissed the union ring. Its not so much about protecting you the worker. It is very much about getting more people signed in.
CORRECTION!
Getting more studios signed into the union and therefore EVERYONE IN THAT STUDIO (like it or not) forced to be in the union.

Why?

The more people signed...the more union dues that are collected. The more money taken away from you. The union stays fat and happy (see picture above).

Its a bizness folks! The Union is a bizness. Based on extortion.
Its Jesse Jackson without the black, and without the rhymes.

Now...while the union is yelling at the people who are working in non union houses ( Being scolded for doing so, by a union president who is himself - working at a FEATURE studio as an animation director....WHO IS OUTSOURCING WORK TO CANADA)
While all of that is happening...those people who have worked at both Union and non union shops find out some very interesting tidbits.

I can safely say that the most fun I've had was working in development at a feature house. The second MOST FUN I've had has been in NON UNION shops.
I have been more poorly treated at 'Union shops' then I have at non union shops. There is pretty much absolutely no difference in security. You can be laid off just as easily and just as quickly at a union shop as a non union shop.
You can also stay just as long at a non union shop as you could a union shop.
It all depends on what is happening at either place, really.

So lets look at it this way.

The union tells you its BETTER to be in the union than out of the union. But is it?

**There is no more security being IN the union than that of NON union.
**You can be taken advantage just as easily at a UNION shop as you could a NON union shop.
**The union says that the non union shops send stuff overseas but..so will ( AND DO) the union shops. By the UNION PRESIDENT himself!
** There's not much a Union can do (they're own words) if the studio starts to rip you off. The only difference is that the union is forcing you to pay them (the Union) so that they can tell you that!
At least with a non union shop, you are KEEPING that money.

I have, since that time, worked at non union shops exclusively. And I can tell you, that like any entertainment industry..you have ups and downs. But in the downs...there are the feelings of more control over things. Mainly because the jobs are more abundant, so that there is SOMETHING to always grab onto. Something to do.

A great deal of the reason that there are, is that the union is not there...screwing things up!
Unions can be a cancer. Not always..but often, they are. They can make things so difficult that they would rather people be out of work than compromise on an issue.
They would argue that, and argue that with vigor and passion no doubt!
But lets look at some examples.

Michigan: A bastion of Union activism...Michigan is in the toilet.
Most places that have a union at the helm are in the toilet.

Teachers Unions are killing American education. making it difficult to impossible to get rid of terrible teachers, and dumbing down our education to cover up for their incompetence.

The entertainment areas: When the writers strike hit, it affected TONS of other people in the industry. Besides the writers. So many people were hit and hit hard. People such as those that work as camera people, set builders, craftsmen, designers, etc etc. All because the union wanted to hold firm on a point.
People were hurt. People with families . And the union didn't give a damn.

There are so many examples of union caca..its not even funny. you see...Its not about teaching our kids. Its not about protecting the worker.

It is about
acquiring power. And keeping it.

It's politics.
It means dragging money out of you or you don't work. It means pushing candidates that meet the unions political needs, To benefit the union--not the workers.

Baby cakes..you aren't even in the equation. BUT your invited to the meeting.
Have a slice of pizza (after all..you paid for it) and a beer, and shut the hell up.

The places with worker unions are in desperate desperate times. Across the country.
The ones that aren't shackled to the unions..... are doing better. Growing.
People are working, and people are thriving.

The people/workers as WELL as the businesses!
While the Places with Unions and the people forced to work under them are NOT.

Now tell me...isn't it time someone asks........."why"?

"STATE OF THE UNION"

Its been a long time since I've had an "animation industry" post. I've been so busy with the politics of present I've literally had TOO much to comment on and too little time to do it. It's proven hard to keep up with the incompetence of the boy wonder obama, that I just have not been able to carve out the needed time to post an 'industry' post.
So being that I haven't had an industry post in quite a while, I thought I'd comment on this little nugget from the past.

"The Union"

Specifically the animation guild, Local 839. First let me preface my comment on this possible two part post, by saying that I am not anti union. Not at all.
In its most ideal form, the union is a beeeeeeeeeee-autiful thing. The organization that looks out for the little guy. Fights for the oppressed worker! Attempts to level the playing field! Dons its armor, shield and sword to do battle with the mean, big, old animation studios!!

Our hero's.

But in the real world....when you are confronted with the realization the the Disney studios is not the magical place where you could walk in off the street and see employees playing in a makeshift 'fireman' jazz band, or where everyone walks around whistling zipadee doo da out of there nether crevasses....You also come to realize that the union is..in a nutshell...a racket.

Now, are there are good things about the union?
Of course.
But one thing I found out early was the union is only as powerful or as effective as the times that they are in.
Back when I was starting in the animation world, it was BOOM TIME! Every one was working! Every one was having fantastic times! We was rollin' baby!
The union touted success after success. And some of it rightly so! It was a form of 'sellers market' in animation. I remember being really stoked to have this union. I thought "Man! They are really REALLY on top of this stuff!" I remember really being glad that Tom Sito was at the helm.
But, looking back..that had more to do with the times and less to do with the union or with Tom.

Now let me say..I'm not anti Tom Sito. Far from it! I think Tom is an amiable feller. With a twinkle in his eye, a broad face and a little round belly, that shook when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly..yeah...sure! He was indeed chubby and plump. A right jolly old elf! >:)

If you ever want to have a drink with him and get some useful information about how many toes bugs almost had or if Walt had a freckle on his left testicle that had to be removed, (you know, real important stuff like that), then you couldn't ask for a better person to hang with.
But as the union head honcho back then...he was just another bureaucrat. Another pol. Ironically, another "head honcho" of the sort that he no doubt disliked from the big old nasty studios.
Only HIS cause was a moral one, cuz he fought for the common man, don'tcha know?
To be fair, he is a nice guy. But you really have to (like all politicians) keep in mind that he's in it for Tom, and once you have it in mind that he really doesn't give a rats assy about individuals in the industry, then your in good company with him.

NOW... let me lay some ground work for ya. To work in the industry..for feature films...You had to BE in the union. Required.
You want to work, you have to join. No join...no work.
With that..that means you pay fees. Or as they dress them up.....'dues'.
These "fees/dues" are usually spent on political causes or political candidates ...usually leftist democrats. Not due to any evidence that they (the democrat candidates and causes) ACTUALLY HELP business or workers, but just because they say they do. And because Tom and Steve Hulett are in fact democrats.
Now they would say (and have said to me) : "well you do have a say in where your money (dues) go to."
But being that many in the entertainment field pretty much have the same insipid mindset as Tom and Steve...any 'say ' is pretty much voided out.
My beef is that if I DON'T want my money going to people or causes that I FEEL harm our industry BASED ON FACTS and the RECORDS of those individuals....I should have the option of 'opting out'.
Now I've had several run ins with Steve Hulett where I stated JUST THAT. After a long lengthy argument, he finally said: "well you do have an opt out. You don't have to be in the union".
Which led me to ask "oh so I don't have to be in the union, but I can still work in studio".
Heulett : "no...."

So basically...If one wanted to work, you have to be in the union and you have to pay dues and you have no say as to how those dues are (foolishly) spent. (can anyone say extortion?)
I had a few talks with Hulett . Especially was when the animation industry was starting to go into its crash. I was adamantly against spending any more money on political candidates due to their histories and stances that was causing more and more work to be sent overseas. Not just in the animation world but across the board in the entertainment fields.
The candidates and stances were all leftists, by all democrats...and the union was endorsing them. With OUR money. With plans to keep doing so.
Yeah..that got me cranky and I said so.

I mention Steve Hulett. Who is himself a nice guy. But like Sito, a racketeer (in my humble opinion). A recruiter for the cause.
When I was a starry eyed CAl-Arts student, I remember Steve Hulett coming in and giving us a talk in the life drawing room. I remember thinkin, '"ooo yeah..wow..that makes sense!" And really..much of it did make sense. The studios are bastards that will take advantage of you in any way possible!
But... what he neglected to say- was that the union were bastards too, that will take advantage of you as well. Also that they (unions) CAN be a force that can make things EXTREMELY bad for workers and cause mass unemployment due to being totally unreasonable.
But see...that's stuff that doesn't play well when they're trying to depict themselves as the ones wearing the white hats.
End part one

Coming up...part two "WHITE HATTED BLACK BARTS"

or.
...

"Sito and Hulett: Hypocrites running the asylum"

.....Yeah, It gets better....

TONIGHT....

The first of a two part post.
Animation Industry related.
For anyone interested in that sort of thing.

What'd I say?

HAHA! I had forgotton all about the THROW OUT of the term "TERRORISM" and being replaced by....(wait for it...)

......"man-made disaster".

"President puss".....

PS: you know..when 'robo' had balls, I wonder what he would have thought about that.
Probably would have rolled his eyes and laughed as hard as I am.
Of course now he probably would think "yeah yeah..it makes perfect sense".

self castration. Now THERE'S a "man-made disaster."

Sarkozy dismisses Obama as “unsubstantial”

Times of London:

""Mr Sarkozy is pouring cold water on President Obama’s efforts to recast American leadership on the world stage, depicting them as unoriginal, unsubstantial and overrated. Behind leaks and briefings from the Elysée Palace lies Mr Sarkozy’s irritation at the rock-star welcome that Europe gave Mr Obama on his Europan tour earlier this month.

The American President’s call “to free the world of the menace of a nuclear nightmare” was hot air, Mr Sarkozy’s diplomatic staff told him in a report. “It was rhetoric – not a speech on American security policy but an export model aimed at improving the image of the United States,” they said. Most of Mr Obama’s proposals had already been made by the Bush administration and Washington was dragging its feet on disarmament and treaties against nuclear proliferation, the leaked report said.""

As well as having to be "shamed" into acting on disputes between china and the EU, and for brokering the acceptance by Turkey of Anders Fogh Rasmussen as NATO Secretary-General.

""According to the leaks, Mr Sarkozy shamed Mr Obama into intervening: “You were elected to build a new world. Tax havens are the embodiment of the old world,” he is quoted as saying. He also reprimanded Mr Obama for setting US goals for climate change that were inferior to Europe’s, according to his staff.

Again, according to the Sarkozy version, at the Nato summit in Strasbourg, Mr Obama was meekly yielding to Turkey’s refusal to endorse Anders Fogh Rasmussen as the alliance’s new Secretary-General. It took pressure from Mr Sarkozy and Chancellor Merkel of Germany to stiffen him up and change his mind, say the French.""

President puss.....

president puss.

In the boy wonders European trip this month..he proceeded to get them even more flustered and joyous. Now a lefty..ANY lefty will tell you "whats wrong with that? They are loving us again!"
Leftists suffer from a need to be loved. Its a lack of time with Daddy I would venture to guess.

The reason Europeans 'love' obama, is basically because he is (like them) a leftist of which all leftists are (like Europeans) pusses. By and large.

They view obama (man-cub) to have similar views and values (or lack of) and will do what they (the Europeans) have always wanted . To bring the U.S. down to their level.
They are weak, and they are failed...and they have always been jealous of America. They want America 'cut down to size'. And in the name of 'equality' of all things.
We (America) are to be no better than any other country. That's the want.

They also see him for what he is.. a pliable lightweight. Inexperienced and empty.

So obama went...and what happened?...he gets rolled. He gets nothing and gives away everything.
He gets no help for Afghanistan..oh SURE! The dummy lefty will say.."But Handel! He got 5 thousand more troops!"
Yeah..but not for combat use. Not for any use that we would need them for.
No stimulus spending help from the Euro's.
No help on Iran.
No help with N Korea.
In fact the same day that obama was saying he was unilaterally going to draw down our arms and possibly nix missile defense..North Korea sent up a missile test of their own.
Obama..smart boy.

He and the Euros got plenty upset saying that there would be consequences..all of which fell to the way side and ...(surprise) nothing happened.

Further more..obama was also looking for some help with the Guantanamo filth. Only to have France say they would take ONE and Austria Interior Minister Maria Fekter wondering aloud..
"if they are not dangerous...why not keep them in America?"

Brilliant. And true. If president puss thinks that they AREN'T dangerous...why not stick them in good ole Chicago? or how bout Modesto? or maybe instead of building a new monument to the Trade Center..put some housing up in that spot and stick them there.

President puss also in his trip apologized for America, and slapped it in the face.
Nothing to be surprised about from the pupil of Rev Wright.

A perfect sum up would be his bow to the Saudi king. Some on the left are saying its just a 'respect thing'.
But they are hard pressed to explain why our closest Ally Britain gets a slight head bow while the good king gets a full on bow .

The Saudis look at that as SUBMISSION. And I'm pretty sure that obama knows that. Which is why he bowed so low and raised his hiney so high.
Whether he's bowing so low to service well the Saudi king
or..
bowing so low to raise his ass high enough for a proper Saudi free for all remains to be known.

I'm guessing both.

After all... to bow to evil while slapping your own country in the face is the leftist thing to do.

HAPPY EASTER !

HE IS RISEN !

""And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said...""

Mathew 28: 2-6

...He is risen indeed.

Disney made one movie, and they've been tracing it ever since.
